We’re the three best friends that anyone could have

February 26th, 2010

This morning I walked outside and there were arrows everywhere. I think they were a map to burried treasure. After following the trail for 20 minutes the arrows just stopped. There was no treasure there. Man, I got unlucky.

Mobile:

Because of the olympics, there was no tv party on tonight. Andrew, Danny, Jess, and I took advantage of this time and watched the season 3 finalie (I have no idea how to spell this) of BSG
“It’s in the fraking ship!”

I was gonna go to bed earlier, but I got peer pressured into playing three games of Halo. The fact that tomorrow is a piñata Friday was the final push to give in. I only pulled of one win oug of the 3 games. It was rockets so I didn’t feel as accomplished. I’ll have to settle with second for now. I’ll get you next time Timathious!

Like a Saturday night, I’ll be gone before you knew that I was there

February 25th, 2010

The morning is starting out with an orange, granola bar, and I nice cold Pepsi. I was up until 2:00 last night, doing homework. I am tired. Only 7 more hours of work and 4 more hours of school until I can go home. BLAH.

Tonight Andrew, Danny, and I are finishing season 3 of BSG. Will new Cylons be revealed?… yes.

Dear Newo Ikkin, how’s Apollo been treating you?

February 13th, 2010

A very stressful week came to a good end yesterday.  Danny, Brian, Andrew, and I went down to BYU campus, to attend a workshop taught by Tom Zarek/Apollo/Richard Hatch Himself.  He spent the first bit of his two hours, being all motivational.  We also watched some trailers for stuff he was working on. More than half of the time was some good old Q&A. Enter the Battlestar Galactica questions. My favorite questions were asked by me and Brian.

Q: On the script for the re-imagined series, how was “frak” spelled?

A: It was originally spelled “frack”, but was later changed to “frak” to make it a 4 letter word.  He then rambled on about some new project he is working on

Q:  How was it for you, to portray a character that you start out hating, then liking him, start despising him again, liking his character, then hating his character and hope that he dies… and he does?  (Brian I am going to need your help restating this one more accurately)

A: Brian asked this question, so as soon as he asked it, Richard just started staring at Brian. He then spent the next 15 minutes looking right at Brian, explaining to him that his character was never evil. That Adama doesn’t trust him, and so you the audience doesn’t either. How Tom Zarek is always right about everything, it is jsut your perception. He was kind of deffensive about his character. He started refering to his character as “me” and “I”.    He was very into his character. It was pretty funny that he was glaring at Brian the entire time.

After his speech, Andrew, Danny, Brian, and I went up to get us some “pics or it didn’t happen”.

The night then went to video games:

  1. MW2 – Special opps
  2. Altered Beast – ps3 port
  3. MW2 – Team Spetsnaz
  4. Altered Beast – again
  5. Sonic 3 – ps3 port
  6. Halo – 7 player networking action

I’m sitting in church right now. Listening to the most awful talk ever. It has been going on for almost 20 minutes. Please stop.

I could feel a hot one taking me down

January 29th, 2010

I was getting ready to leave work for the week, when I realized that I forgot to fill out my work goals for 2010. They are due today. I guess I’ll be staying late tonight.

In a bit, Andrew is meeting up with me and we are going to head up to Salt Lake to go see a concert.  The bands are Brand New and Manchester Orchestra.  I have not seen Brand New in a couple years so I am pretty excited.  I hear they have been better on their recent tour than on their last few tours.  I have been going to their shows for 8 years, when I first saw them in Lindon, with Taking Back Sunday

At the show I am going to meet up with Kelli and her husband Ben.  I have not seen her in 2 years, so I am really excited. Kelli is probably the greatest friend that I have ever had (besides family).

2005 – Kelli and I went to see Mae and Yellowcard. Afterward we went to hobbitville.  I wrote a song about this night, I need to go dig it up and post it.

Well I better get my goals written so I can take off.

I am in my written business communications class right now, “listening” to a lecture. The teacher shows this slide:

Ah, Windows 95 (or possibly 98).

Last night, Ashli gave me a call. She let me know that there was some guy that tried out for American Idol that had tourettes. My good friend, the internet, had the clip available for me to watch today:

AI9 DA 4 @ Yahoo! Video

It was kind of weird seeing this because his tourettes is so close to mine. It is also kind of comforting to know that other people deal with the exact same issue. I really hope this guy does well and gets air time.

I watched this a few minutes ago and ever since then my clicking twitch has been acting up. Sorry coworkers.

An interesting note: I have yet to find a spell checker that has the word “tourretes”/”tourette’s” in it.

Bury me in memories of CK1 and tight white T’s

January 27th, 2010

Today I left an hour early from work and made my way up to Park City, to go film festival it up. I have lived here my whole life and have never gone, or considered going. I decided it was about time. I met up with Andrew and Danny, who went their early to see another film. They also picked me up a standby ticket. Thanks!

Andrew and Danny’s celebrity siting of the event was Morgan Spurlock. He was in Alberton’s pushing a big cart of chips, while being filmed.

My siting happened at McDonald’s.  I stopped in Heber on the way home to get some food.  The State of The Union address was playing on a TV in there, so I ate my food while watching it.  The guy next to me looked very familiar.  I finally recognized who he was.  It was Mike Mills, bassist of REM.  I loved REM as a kid, so I was very excited to see him. I was going to say hi, but he was on the middle of stuffing his face, so I didn’t bother him.
