My Taiwanese coworker, the Asian sensation Bob, and I were just chatting. He randomly brought up that “Asian people are always two things: cheap and racist”. He then went on to talk about his racist grandfather and examples of racist things there. One thing he made me google was “Black Man Toothepaste”.
Apparently it is a reference to old black and white movies where Black People’s skin was shown very dark on film; In contrast, the teeth would show up extra bright. I was a little startled to hear Bob’s explanation of it, but like he said “all Asian people are racist”.
Over the years I have built a large collection of old notebooks. All of them are less than half full of writing. I have been flipping through my old notebooks over the past few weeks and I have discovered something about myself: I have written a lot of crappy poetry. A lot of them are set up to be songs but never get put to music (mostly because of how poor the quality is when looking at it at a later time).
Tonight I found a poem that I wrote sometime between 6 months and a year ago. I wrote it while in the waiting room of my tourette’s doctor. It is not the best, but I think it does a good job at capturing me. For some unknown reason, I thought I’d share:
Please wait at the sign until I call you up
to take your 90 bucks
We haven’t seen you here in a while,
are you holding up on your mental health?
Do your 5 dollar pills make you think you can taste the rainbow
or do they just keep you from exposing yourself to the world?
Blocks fall, “daggers” spelled
the wanna be goth has lost her mom,
or maybe she just finally got her wish
I see you raised your morning intake
It looks fine, but remember
you’re setting yourself up for life
Brown shirt, tender hands, your head so revealed
Do you know that I just might be there myself?
Or maybe not
I’ll help you feed your addiction, but know
there might be better out there for you
there might be
there might be
but for now, just hit the road
My friend Jeff performed on NBC 10 in Philadelphia this morning. He was promoting his latest cd.
When the album came out last year, I was a bit more than excited to see that he had given me a shoutout in the cd insert. It was especially an honor to have my name directly after his previous band.
Two biggest unanswered questions in film a) does the top stop spinning at the end of Inception? b) is Dee really dating a “retarded person”?
Tonight Brian and I ruled the streets of Salt Lake, got free breadsticks from some girls, went on a long relaxing drive, and played some Mario wii. It’s been a good night.

This week has been has been pretty busy. All of my nights have been spent working on a project for my Web Aplication Development course. It’s due Sunday night. Then there is another one due the next week along with a final. After that I get my awesome 1 week break of school.
I usually get burned out of homework around 9:30 and need time to relax. This week’s late night activities have included getting fish tacos with the crew, going to some girl’s birthday party at Branbury, and playing co-op missions on team spestsnaz. There has also been some shark week watching as well. I love the shows, but I think I am ok with never seeing one of the Air Shark documentaries again.
Nate and Cass had a baby this last week. Little McCoy. I have not been able to visit him because I have been pounding away at my school project during the evenings. I have not been able to get enough time to drive all the way down there. I really hope to be able to go see him Sunday. From the pics I have seen, he is ridiculously cute. We are gona be tight.
It other baby news, Matt and Liz had a baby last night. The hospital they are at is less than 10 min away, so I was able to take a quick trip down there on my lunch break. Here is me with BABY.
Work has been pretty frustrating today because of “network problems”. After today I am more than ready for the weekend. I am not exactly sure what is happening tonight. Tomorrow night I am going to go hang out with my friends Jessica and Nikki.
Tonight the new I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody’s Business music video premiered. The first time watching it I thought it was pretty stupid. Admittedly I was struggling to finish it even with it being one of my favorite songs ever. However, after seeing the ending and watching the whole thing again, I am pretty big fan of it.
